FAQ
Pay the rent in time
The monthly rent payment must be paid before or no later than the 1st day of the month.
Bank account details for rent payment
In your tenancy agreement you can find information on how to pay your monthly rent. It also states whether you must pay the rent to Woonmanagement Maastricht or directly to the landlord.
Rent payment by bank transfer
Normally it is agreed that you pay the rent monthly by bank transfer. The account information stated in the tenancy agreement can then be used. Make sure that the rent payment is always made beforeor no later than the 1st of the month.
First payment reminder
If the rent is not paid on time, you will receive a payment reminder. Follow the instructions on the payment reminder and make sure you pay the rent as soon as possible.
Second payment reminder
If the rent payment is still not made after the first payment reminder, you will receive a reminder including penalty interest. Follow the instructions on the reminder and pay the outstanding amount immediately. If payment is not made, this claim will be handed over for collection. Collection costs will then also be charged on top of the outstanding claim.
Your payment arrears handed over to the collection agency
You will receive a letter from the collection agency because, despite the payment reminder and the urgent request, you have still not paid the rent due. The collection agency compiles a file and gives you the opportunity to pay the rent, plus the costs counted by the collection agency itself, within the term set by the collection agency.
Legal steps
If you still fail to make the payment within the set deadline, the file will be handed over to a bailiff for further legal action. All costs incurred will then be at your expenset. In addition, termination of the lease will be demanded.
Rental price structure
The calculation of your monthly rent can be found in the rental contract. Here you will see a clear price structure of the basic rent, service costs and, if applicable, energy costs.
